Prince would surely be proud.
During her Dallas concert of her Formation World Tour on Monday night, Beyoncé graced the world with a gorgeous tribute to the late superstar.
She gave a powerful rendition of "The Beautiful Ones," singing the entirety of the song on her knees from the middle of a purple stage. She gave us chills as she belted out the lyrics, "Do you want her?/ Or Do you want me?/Cause I want you"—a fitting message for the release of her Lemonade album.
The tribute is only given close competition by the last time Bey performed "The Beautiful Ones" at the Glastonbury Festival in 2011, intermixing Kings of Leons' "Sex on Fire."
Queen B and Prince first encountered one another during their 2004 Grammys performance together. They sang a collaboration of "Purple Rain" and "Crazy in Love."
Bey also paid tribute to the singer during the Miami kickoff show for Formation, leading a "Purple Rain" singalong while turning the stage purple. She also did a cover of Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl."
Prince was found dead in his home in suburban Minneapolis on April 21.
