Chance the Rapper will honor Muhammad Ali at ESPY Awards

Chance The Rapper has been tapped to honor one of the greats, during tonight’s (July 13) ESPY Awards.

Chicago lyricist Chance The Rapper made a big reveal last night (July 12) on Twitter when he posted a photo of what appeared to be a rehearsal for the ESPY Awards. In a caption for the photo, he revealed that he will take part in “a special tribute” held for the late Muhammad Ali.

“I am honored to say I will be a part of a special tribute to the great Muhammad Ali at tomorrow nights #ESPYS,” Chance The Rapper wrote in his tweet.

News of Chance’s tribute comes nearly a month and a half after Ali’s passing. A number of artists in the Hip Hop community, including Future and Lil Wayne, expressed their condolences via social media.

Each year, the ESPY Awards are held to honor the accolades of those in team and individual athletics. Best Female Athlete, Best Team, and Best Championship Performance are among the awards that will be given out.

The ESPY Awards will air tonight at 8 PM EST on ABC.
