19-year-old jumps into river in suicide attempt

A 19-year-old woman on Sunday caused a stir in Dunhuang, China, when she reportedly jumped into a river in a suicide attempt.
The yet-to-be identified woman was said to have been drinking with colleagues by the river in northwest China when she jumped in.
According to the government of Dunhuang city on a social media post, her workmates rescued her but she jumped in again.

While on the rescue mission, no fewer than nine persons got drowned including a passer-by who came to the aid of the people in the water.
Meanwhile, officials in the province of Gansu have reportedly begun investigation into the incident.
