Mariah Carey says her 'goal' is to get married this year

Before Mariah Carey opens her life to the world with her upcoming docu-series Mariah's World, the elusive chanteuse is opening up to ET about her Las Vegas residency, her upcoming wedding and her kids.
ET special correspondent Sharon Osbourne sat down with Carey on Monday in Vegas where the pop superstar is back at Caesars Palace for the fourth leg of her #1 to Infinity residency, which continues through the summer.

"The best thing about being here is the fans," Carey explained. "[They] come from all different places in the world."

While she's definitely feeling the love from her devoted lambs, the "Fantasy" singer is head-over-heels for her fiancé, Australian billionaire James Packer. The couple got engaged in January, after Packer proposed with a massive 35-carat ring, and now Carey is working to figure out when their sure-to-be-lavish wedding can happen.

Carey said that tying the knot sometime this year "is the goal," however, she admitted, "there's a lot on my plate."

While the couple couldn't seem happier, Carey said that their relationship didn't start off hot and heavy. After splitting from ex-husband Nick Cannon, Carey explained how she wasn't "on the prowl" for a new man, but felt a spark when she began spending time with her future-husband.

"We were talking and having a good time and I was like, 'This guy is really fun.' So it was nice," Carey shared.

While Carey is preparing to tie the knot with her third husband, the pop diva still shares an amicable relationship with Cannon, with whom she shares 5-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Carey's super cute kids have grown up in the spotlight, and the star can't help but marvel at how much they've grown in just five short years.

"They have strong personalities [and] they are pretty amazing. They make me laugh," Carey gushed.

"They frustrate me sometimes," she added, "But they are great… I can't make things perfect them but I try my hardest to always make them happy."

Mariah's relationship with her adorable kids, her fiancé, and her family will be the subject of the upcoming E! docu-series Mariah's World. But the question is: how real and open is the somewhat guarded songstress going to be when the cameras are rolling?

ET got a taste of Mimi’s honesty and diva persona when the subject of grocery stores came up. It turns out the chart topper refuses to enter the supermarket, and with good reason.

"It's pretty bad lighting in the grocery store," Carey explained. "Have you noticed it's fluorescent lighting?"

Mariah’s World is set to premiere later this year.
