Princess Kate had her Vogue moment (and Prince Harry graced PEOPLE's cover!), and now Queen Elizabeth is claiming her place on the cover of Vanity Fair released on Tuesday.
The record-breaking monarch sat for celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz to mark her milestone 90th birthday in April.
Several of the portraits were previously released on April 20, the eve of the Queen's birthday, including a shot of Elizabeth with her only daughter, Princess Anne, and another featuring her youngest grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The newly released cover photo, also shot by Leibovitz in April, shows the Queen seated with her four beloved corgis and dorgis. (A dorgi is a corgi-dachshund mix.)
Another newly released photo showcases the Queen and her husband of 68 years, Prince Philip, in the Oak Sitting Room at Windsor Castle in April.
"They are probably doing more stuff together now than they've ever done. She looks incredibly happy these days," Robert Hardman, writer of the recent documentary special Queen at 90, recently told PEOPLE.
"She's a lot more smiley," Hardman continued. "It's no doubt partly because the whole family and the institution is strong and contented, but a lot of it is down to him."
