The pair, along with Pochettino’s assistant, Jesus Perez, dined together at Scott’s Restaurant in Mayfair.
David Lammy, MP for Tottenham, told The Spurs Show podcast in February: “I’m going to let you into a secret. About six weeks ago, I sat next to Sir Alex Ferguson at a dinner in support of grassroots football abroad.
“He said to me ‘I think you guys have got the best manager in the Premier League.’”
Although the meeting sparked fresh rumours that United was looking to move for Pochettino, it is understood that Spurs are aware of the meeting.
Pochettino already stated in April, that he had reached a verbal agreement with the North London club, over a new five-year deal that would keep him at White Hart Lane until 2021.
The Argentine joined Spurs from Southampton in May 2014.
