Rihanna looked flawless while showing off her huge diamond ring on the BBMAs red carpet May 22. She’s not engaged, but the ring may not have been as innocent as you might think. Rihanna may have been giving Drake a little hint at a marriage proposal.
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but they’re also the best way to hint at a proposal. Rihanna, 28, wore a beautiful eye-catching diamond ring at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, and the real reason behind her extra bling may shock you.
The musician was apparently wearing it to trick Drake into a proposal, a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
If the “Work” singer wanted to get people talking, she absolutely nailed it. “Rihanna loves being the center of attention and she knew that wearing a sparkler on her engagement finger would do the trick,” a source close to the pop star told HollywoodLife.com. It did more than the trick, it got people wondering if she could be walking down the aisle sometime soon.
“She put that ring on her finger, not a man. It would have meant so much more to her if an actual man, who she’s in love with, actually proposed and put a ring on her finger. She was sending a clear message with that ring and telling everyone’s that interested in her that she’s interested in being wifey,” the source added. Hmm. Could that certain someone be Drake?
We hear you, Rihanna. But it appears off-again/on-again fling Drake, 29, doesn’t. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Drake adores Rihanna and has mad love for her, but he’s scared to commit because he feels an exclusive relationship would kill their friendship.
“Drake is adamant he’s not dating Rihanna,” a friend of the Views artist EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. “Drake loves her dearly, but they’re friends with benefits with no strings attached. It works better that way,” the source explained. “No expectations. Nobody gets hurt. Everyone’s on the same page. They tried the whole monogamy thing but it didn’t work. This is what it is, for now,” our insider dished.
“She’s really over this hookup bulls*** and wants her men to know that if they like it then they should put a ring on it,” our source spilled. It’s absolutely crazy to us that someone wouldn’t want to put a ring on Rihanna, but the struggle must truly be real. Better watch your back, Drake, cause she ain’t playing around anymore.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Drake should propose to Rihanna? Or was the ring just a simple fashion accessory? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
