Former Minister of Education and leader of the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, advocacy group, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, says she will not take it lightly with any media outlet portraying the man found with the rescued missing Chibok girl as her ‘husband.’
She made this known on her twitter handle @obyezeks.
She tweeted: “#AminaAli needs plenty quietude. She needs love and care. She needs a long sleep while her baby is cared for by another.
“FG, Borno and Local Govts, media and our entire society should also join us in upholding the dignity of #AminaAli, @ChibokParents and Community.
“Does media not know that #AminaAli’s parents did not give her out in marriage to anyone? She is a victim of #Abduction and #SexualViolence.
“From now on, I shall call out any media that writes or says “her Boko Haram husband” for that predator that violated #AminaAli.
“Get ready,” she tweeted.
Recall that Mohammed Hayatu, was found with Amina when she was rescued by troops in the Sambisa Forest, close to Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, a development that would be the first since the girls were abducted from the school by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, 2014.
Amina was found with Hayatu and a baby she was breastfeeding.
Hayatu had allegedly escaped and surrendered himself, Amina and their baby to members of the Borno state Civilian Joint Task Force in Balle, a village in Damboa due to constant suffering.
