Rivers United Coach, Eguma Gets Three - Match Ultimatum

Rivers United Head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, will be sacked except results improve dramatically for the club in their next three games.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) team, are currently 11th in the league, with 10 points from a possible 24. They have also failed to win a single match away from home.
Sponsors of the team are not happy with recent performances and have made their displeasure known in a statment.
“The Rivers State Government has invested heavily in the club and, so far, the results have been far from impressive,” Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Honourable Boma Iyaye, said after their 0-0 draw with Sunshine Stars on Wednesday.
“Following the unimpressive 0-0 draw on Wednesday with a struggling side like Sunshine Stars, who are just one place from the bottom of the table, we have decided to act.
“The technical crew, led by Stanley Eguma, have now been given a three-match ultimatum to improve the fortunes of the club and justify the huge amount of money spent on the club by the Rivers State Government or be shown the way out.
“This is not a witch hunt but an honest and concerted effort in ensuring that all involved in this club key into our philosophy of making Rivers United the most foremost in the country.”
Rivers United will face Ikorodu United (in Lagos), El Kanemi Warriors (in Port Harcourt) and Heartland (in Owerri), in their next three NPFL fixtures.
