Sahara Reporters had earlier reported that she was abducted by a group of heavily armed gunmen late Thursday, September 29, 2016.
The report quoted a source as saying Mrs Magaret was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor road.
Details of the abduction have now shown that she was abducted with four other women and her driver, but the identities of the women are still being kept away from the public.
Security sources say the kidnappers contacted Emefiele and vowed not to free his wife unless the ransom was paid.
Though the Nigeria police force is yet to confirm the incident, it was learnt that the authorities have instituted a team to search for and rescue the victims
