Tiwa Savage in a late interview with vibe.com opened up on her music career and her deal with Roc Nation.
She said:
"I know a lot of artists have gotten international deals, however for me the main Passion for Africa was just there and it began with me and Bee-High and just him him taking time to come to Nigeria a so many times. That speaks volumes,”
For somebody who is not from that there, coming and spending time and learning about the culture and saying this can crossover, it made me feel really comfortable. When I went to the Roc Nation office here in New York, there was a real interest and real love. It was the same feeling when I met Jay Z. He was really interested in the African culture and you can even see from some of the artifacts he has in his office. It was an easy decision for me. I didn't need to shop around and see what my potions were. There are some things that when it just comes, you know it's right. That was only the situation. You hear a lot of times when people sign following a month, they're all alone. With Roc Nation, it appears their day-by-day support is only getting stronger."
