Newlyweds Emeka and Nkechi Ofor are off to a rocky start. During their white wedding ceremony, Nkechi was heard threatening to stab her groom, Emeka, due to a problem with the sharing of food to her family members. This incident occurred in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria on June 26.
Nkechi’s stance was that she felt her family was not given as much food as she desired, especially as she contributed the most financially to the ceremony.
One of the caterers started to explain things to the bride but her temper got the better of her and she flung bottles at the man.
When Emeka tried to intervene, Nkechi was heard threatening to stab him and herself if she did not have her way.
A fight broke out between the families and unfortunately one guest, Chinwendu Ibiam, was mistaken as the wife’s relation and was stabbed in the back of the neck by Chisom Ofor.
Chisom fled the scene and Chinwedu’s brother, Uche, rushed his unconscious brother to the hospital on Bende Road, Umuahia and the issue was reported to Central Police Station Umuahia.
Nkechi was asked to give her account of what happened but has been unavailable ever since. Chisom has not been apprehended for his crimes.
