Tiger Woods Officially Withdraw From The US PGA Championship

Tiger Woods has officially withdrawn from the US PGA Championship.

This will be the first time the 14-time major winner will miss all four majors in a calendar year in his professional career since his Masters debut in 1995.

The 40 year-old has not played tournament golf in almost a year and had two operations last autumn in an attempt to cure a back problem.

“We have been in contact with Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, and he informed us today that our four-time PGA Champion will be unable to join us at Baltusrol Golf Club next week for the 98th PGA Championship,” the PGA of America said in a statement.

The Golf Channel said it received an email from Steinberg stating, “Continuing to make progress, but simply not ready for PGA. Will not play in the ’15/’16 season and will continue to rehab and work hard to then assess when he starts play for the ’16/’17 season.”

The 14-time major winner has dropped to a world ranking of 628
