Ghana Cedis 19Nov2010

Source of Light Ministry Ghana, a non-profit religious organisation, has organised a fundraising dinner in Accra to raise funds to distribute free bible study materials to students across the country.

The project dubbed: “Adopt-a school/prison,” aims to send the word of God to inmates and students, advance spiritual and moral righteousness to promote the prosperity of the nation by furnishing it with men qualified to act in the fear of God, as leaders and counsellors.

It also seeks to promote good reading comprehension skills and address issues of teenage pregnancy, HIV and AIDS, Obedience to Authority, Occultism and drugs.

Speaking on the theme “Attempt Great things for God, And Expect great things from God,” Reverend Dr Alfred Ofosu-Asante, Senior Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Teshie-Nungua Estates said these activities are to equip the youth for the Kingdom of God.

He said “as Christians we need to attempt great things for God for indeed with God all things are possible to provide us with our needs and wants”.

Rev Ofosu-Asante said both the youth and old must embrace practical Christianity adding: “We need to inculcate in the youth the fear of God and bring them back to life to restore integrity in the society”, he said.

Mrs Grace Barnes, SLM Board Chairperson, said the second coming of the Lord is eminent and the SLM wants to populate the Kingdom of God as well as to train the youth to be morally upright for a better a future.

She called on benevolent individuals, corporate entities to contribute to the worthy course to spread the gospel of Christ to make an impact.

The SLM mission is to save souls and build lives for service and leadership.

It began in 1952 when two servants of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to expand the effectiveness of Gospel distributions by the means of free Bible correspondence courses.

It also offers Bible correspondence courses for use in ministry across the world
