Air Force reacts to report on impending retirement of AVMs, Commodores

      

The Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday reacted to a report by a national newspaper titled “Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores,” saying the story was unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF.
A statement signed by its spokesman, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, quoted the publication as alleging that the NAF is at the verge of retiring a number of senior officers in relation with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.
But it denied, saying “It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF.

“The Press is, therefore, please advised to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication,” the statement added.
