Villagers flee as gunmen attack villages in Taraba

  Some unidentified gunmen in the wee hours of Sunday attacked about three villages in Taraba state, leaving no fewer than six persons killed and scores wounded.
The gunmen attacked the Gidan Bature, Korum and Orawua villages in Gassol Local Government Area of the state at about 2 am.
It was gathered that the gunmen burnt eight cars and set several houses ablaze in Korum village

   Confirming the attack, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Joseph Kwaji, told newsmen that contrary to reports, only one person was killed in the attacks.
While the wounded persons were taken to clinics at the local government headquarters, other residents of the attacked villages fled for Mutum Biyu, Gassol Local Government headquarters for safety.
