Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Leo Irabor made this known on Friday while briefing newsmen on the ongoing ‘Operation Crackdown’ in Balazala, Sasawa, Kasare, Marcas 1 and 2 Villages, Izza, Walasa where a young girl was rescued as well as Tokombere area where troops rescued some victims including two Cameroonians held hostage by the Boko Haram Terrorists.
General Irabor said, since the commencement of the ‘Operation Crackdown’ on the 28 of April 2016, considerable and concerted efforts have been made by all military formations and units in Operation Lafiya Dole to degrade combat capabilities of Boko Haram within the Sambisa forest and other enclaves in the northeast, Nigerian.
He said, troops have blocked Boko Haram terrorists routes at various positions and assured that, with the collective determination to clear the remnant of Boko Haram terrorists, their is hope that very soon they will be smoke out of their miserable hideouts in the remote areas of the northeast Nigeria.
“I am glad to inform you this morning that our gallant troops have continued their advance into the Sambisa Forest under “Operation Crackdown,” the General said.
