A suspected robber was on Friday morning beaten and stripped half naked after he was apprehended during a failed operation in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
The yet-to-be identified man escaped being lynched by the angry mob after he was rescued by the police.
Reports say the man and his syndicate had broken into an apartment belonging to a man simply identified as Roland.

The suspected thieves had cut the chain of a generating set and in an attempt to make away with it, neighbours chased them after Roland raised the alarm.
While the other members escaped, the unidentified man was apprehended and beaten mercilessly.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Butswat Asinim, said the suspect was already in detention and that efforts to apprehend the fleeing members were ongoing.
