Okagbare out of Rome Diamond League

      

Nigeria’s sprint sensation, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, is not expected to compete on Thursday in Rome, as the IAAF Diamond League takes place.The double Commonwealth sprints champion’s name, was missing in the provisional entry list released by the organisers on Monday.
Okagbare has never competed at the Rome meeting, since she burst into limelight in 2010.

She however continued her slow start to the 2016 season at the NIKE-sponsored Prefontaine Classic IAAF Diamond League meeting in Eugene, Oregon, USA last weekend, finishing the 100m in 11.16 seconds.
Okagbare also recorded a 6.73m personal season’s best jump in the long jump.
