Khloé Kardashian is in good spirits as she moves forward with her divorce.Hours after the Keeping up with the Kardashians star reinitiated the legal steps to finalize her split from estranged husband Lamar Odom on Thursday, she attended the birthday party of sister Kourtney's ex Scott Disick.
"She was really in a great mood. Very bubbly and happy," says a KUWTK source of the family gathering. "She played with her nieces and nephews. She is the best aunt."
The source adds, "Everyone in her family is happy that she is moving on. She has all the support possible."
Another source told PEOPLE on Thursday that it "was always the plan" to go through with the legal split. "The divorce has never been officially off. Khloé was waiting for the timing to be right."
Now, a second production insider affirms that, though the divorce is amicable, Kardashian is ready to start a new chapter.
"She took care of Lamar out of love, but she is ready to move on now," says the source, who adds that Kardashian "doesn't agree" with recent incidents of Odom drinking. And though it's a bittersweet decision for Kardashian, 31, the insider says she is at peace with it.
"She never wanted to file for divorce in the first place, and it's not easy the the second time around either. But she knows it's the right thing for her," says the insider.
"She wants to remove herself from the situation a bit," the insider continues. "She wants to focus on her own happiness now."
Though the KUWTK insider notes that "Khloé wants to have kids," a third source close to the family says family planning wasn't a major factor in the split.
"Khloé definitely wants kids, but that didn't have anything to do with her moving forward with the divorce," says the family friend.
Kardashian provided both emotional and financial support for Odom, 36, in the months following his hospitalization, staying day and night at his hospital bedside, making sure he received the best medical treatment and helping him move into a leased home in the same gated community as her as he continued to recover.
"She was loyal for a long time and taking care of him," a fourth insider told PEOPLE yesterday, "but she's not a babysitter and needs to move on with her life."
Keeping Up with Kardashians airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on E!
