Amber Heard has been granted a restraining order against Johnny Depp, Us Weekly can confirm. As previously reported by TMZ, the actress filed a domestic violence restraining order against the actor and brought photographic evidence of the alleged abuse she suffered. The next hearing is scheduled for June 17.
The London Fields actress, 30, filed divorce papers on Monday, May 23, after more than a year of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. Depp later reportedly asked the judge to deny Heard's request for spousal support.
Heard and the Alice Through the Looking Glass actor, 52, met on the set of their movie The Rum Diary in 2009 and went public with their relationship in 2012. Prior to that, Depp was in a relationship with Vanessa Paradis, with whom he shares daughter Lily-Rose, 16, and son Jack, 14.
The couple married on February 3, 2015 at Depp's West Hollywood home. Five days later, they exchanged vows again in front of family and friends on the actor's private Bahamas island.
Depp broke his silence following the split news on Thursday. "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," his rep told Us Weekly in a statement. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
Us Weekly has reached out to both Heard and Depp's reps for comment.
