A former Miss Universe is speaking out about what she characterizes as Donald Trump‘s cruel nicknames and behavior, accusing him of calling her “Miss Piggy” after she gained weight and “Miss Housekeeping” because of her Latina accent.
“For sure he is not a good person,” Venezuelan-born Alicia Machado told Inside Edition.
The then-19-year-old Machado won Miss Universe in 1996, but gained weight shortly thereafter. Trump was open in his criticism of her weight gain. “She weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went to 160 or 170. So this is somebody that likes to eat,” he told reporters at the time.
Machado said she felt “very depressed” from Trump’s bullying and ashamed when he forced her to work out in a gym in front of news cameras. She claims her experience with Trump led to years of battling eating disorders, requiring psychotherapy at times.
