The 27-year-old man, Mfom John, who stabbed his twin brother, Israel John, to death on Olorunkemi Street in the Somolu area of Lagos state on Monday said he was ordered by some unknown spirits.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, had earlier said the suspect stabbed the victim to death while sleeping at about 6.30am on Olorunkemi Street, Bariga.
Mfom was reported to have stabbed the victim more than 70 times in different parts of his body; on the neck, head, armpit and stomach.

In his confession, the suspect told newsmen at the State Department of Criminal Investigation, SDCI, Yaba, that an unknown spirit ordered him to attack Israel and he didn’t realize what he did until his twin brother was dead.
Mfom, however, said that he was going to do everything possible to find out what or who controlled him to kill his brother.
He said, “Israel is my warlord. I cannot stay alone. I want to go and meet him wherever he is. We went to buy a generator, along with one of our friends at Bariga Market on Sunday. When we came back, we went to a beer joint to drink, later, we all went back home, ate and slept together.
“The next morning, our friend, Friday, went outside. I decided to go and join him outside. My brother was sleeping. As I was about opening the door, I felt someone attempted to blindfold me. In the process of defending myself, I grabbed a kitchen knife which was on top of the table.

“I headed straight to where my twin brother was sleeping and stabbed him several times. It was after the incident that I realised what had happened, Mfom sobbed, adding that he regretted killing his brother because it was not his intention to kill him.
“I have not been myself since his death. Both of us have been helping our elder brother to run his canteen. My twin brother was about to learn how to repair shoes before the unfortunate incident.”
The suspect also confessed that he used to smoke Indian hemp, but stopped three years ago when he was about to come to Lagos.
Mfom said that he started smoking Indian hemp when he was 15 years old.
“When I got to Lagos, instead of smoking, I started eating Indian hemp. I would pour the leaf into my palm and chew it,” the suspect added.
Meanwhile, the PPRO further stated that the case was still being investigated.
