8 things we learned from Mariah Carey's epic WWHL appearance

Mariah Carey Epic

Mariah Carey made a glamorous return to Watch What Happens Live! on Tuesday, and darlings she spilled all sorts of tea.

The 46-year-old singer, who showed up fashionably late, looked fabulous in a plunging LBD that could only be topped by the 35-carat engagement ring she received from fiancé James Packer.

Here are 8 things we learned from her WWHL interview with Andy Cohen:

1. Carey and Packer will be signing prenuptial agreements

When asked by Cohen if the engaged couple will have prenups ahead of their highly anticipated wedding, Mimi quoted Kanye West's song "Gold Digger" and answered, "We want prenup! We want prenup!" And Carey also shut down those rumors she's having a circus-themed wedding. "No, that really made me mad. These people really want to tell me I want endangered animals at my wedding?" she said. "I mean, I have several dogs. I'm such an animal lover and such an advocate for animals that I'm like, really, that's what I'm going to do, have like endangered species? Should I make coats from them all? What else should we do?"

2.She is NOT friends with Jennifer Lopez

It's the "I don't know her" comment that solidified Carey's place in the shade history books. The singer responded with a hard "no" when inquired if she and J. Lo are friends. "Apparently I'm forgetful," Carey said about meeting her fellow Vegas headliner. "If I never had a conversation with you I would say I don't know her," she clarified.

3. The golden rule applies to Nicki Minaj

If you have nothing to nice to say, say nothing. That's how the mother of two feels about the female rapper when she was prompted to say 3 nice things about Minaj during the Plead the Fifth segment. Carey wanted to "stay above the fray" and not discuss a topic that was so "déclassé."

4. Speaking of Minaj, let's talk about American Idol

A fan called in to remind everyone that Carey was noticeably left out of the Idol goodbye montage that featured all the previous judges from the past 15 seasons. "I was heartbroken that I couldn't be there," she said to Cohen as he picked up on a little sarcasm on her part. "I was at home crying, Andy what am I supposed to do when these things happen?"

5. Beyoncé and Britney beef rumors There were many questions regarding Queen Bey and Britney Spears, and Carey made it crystal clear that there is and never was any beef with either of them. "I would LOVE to do a collaboration with her!" she said about working with Beyoncé in the future. As for Spears, Carey called her a "sweet girl" and revealed she tried to see the Piece of Me show at Planet Hollywood.

6. She basically turned down Empire

Back in September 2015, there was much hype about Carey guest starring on close friend Lee Daniels' Fox hit. But according to Carey, she wasn't "going to play a version" of herself if there wasn't a significant "character arc" available.

7. The night's poll question

Tuesday's poll question for fans was "Is Mariah's ring too big or just right?" And she said anyone who thinks her diamond rock is too big are just "haters."

8. New music

The trailer for Mariah's upcoming E! docu-series was released on Tuesday, but that's not the only new project she has her eye on. "I was with some friends last night and I said if I don't get back in the studio I'm gonna lose my mind," Carey said about recording more music.

Mariah Carey shot up the charts in 1990 with her debut album and five-octave range, eventually becoming the best-selling female artist of all time.

For the New York native, it all started at 18 when she met Sony Music mogul Tommy Mottola, who signed her with Columbia Records, making her a star at 21 and his wife at 24. The marriage ended four years later, but Carey continued to record with Columbia until signing a reported $80 million, four-album deal with Virgin Records in 2001.

Her 2005 album The Emancipation of Mimi brought the pop diva back from her well-publicized emotional breakdown, and became the year's best-selling album. In 2008, after beating Elvis Presley with her eighteenth No. 1 single off her sixth No. 1 album, E=MC2, Carey married Nick Cannon, with whom she welcomed twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan Scott Cannon.
