A house located at 17, Egberonbe Street, Ladylak bus stop, Bariga in Lagos was gutted by fire, Tuesday morning.
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said it received a distress call on the incident at about 9:45am.
“Upon receipt of the distress call, the Agency activated her response team and also coordinate rescue/recovery operations with relevant stakeholders at the incident scene,” its spokesman Adebayo Kehinde told DAILY POST.

He explained that while the cause of the inferno could not be immediately ascertained, neighbours said some area boys living in the building stored PMS (fuel) in their apartment.
Continuing, “4 rooms in the first floor, 3 rooms in the BQ and a mini flat were affected in the inferno. No lives lost, 1 victim who sustained minor injuries has been taken to the hospital for further treatment.”
“The combined efforts of Fire Services and Lasema ERT were able to curtail the fire from spreading to other buildings. 4 rooms were salvaged on the ground floor as the fire had been put out.”
He quoted LASEMA General Manager, Mr. Michael Akindele as advising the public to desist from storage of combustible materials such as petroleum products in residential areas.
