Senator Anosike dumps PDP

Senator Emmanuel Anosike
Senator Emmanuel Anosike has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anosike who represented Anambra North in the sixth Senate, in a personal letter addressed to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the party national chairman, said he was no longer a member of the major opposition party.
He hinged his decision to dump PDP on the current state of the party in Anambra State.
He is yet to announce his new party.

He said: “Based on the foregoing and in line with democratic principles, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
He added that he was “hurried out of the senate by the machinery of the PDP. The court of Appeal upheld other senate elections in Anambra State but annulled mine on terribly unabashed flimsy tenets that could not survive slight judicial introspection.
“The nuisance value of the PDP and its hierarchy was amply displayed during the Soludo’s candidature. Suits and counter suits rolled on till one week to the elections; engineered by the so called leaders of the party tormenting and destabilizing the party candidates.”
He added: “I believe it (PDP) needs a rebirth or renewal with enlightened and educated persons at its leadership.

“This leadership has to operate at the points and levels that political parties in other parts of the civilized world operate.”
