In March, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) team, appointed former Warri Wolves coach, Sam Okpodu, as their new technical adviser.
An official of Ikorodu United, Babatunde Ayooala, said they had complete confidence in Okpodu, despite the team sitting in the bottom of the league.
“There is no iota of truth in the report that the management of Ikorodu United is shopping for a Dutch coach to shore up the fortune of the side in the ongoing league season, there is nothing like that, there is no truth in the report, that report merely exists only in the imagination of the reporter,” he told SuperSport.
“We are embarrassed and surprised at the report as the management is not looking for any new coach rather wants to support Okpodu to succeed in his assignment.
“The management believes that Okpodu is doing a good job at the moment and the team are gradually improving with each match.
“We have just lost two away matches, one home match to Rivers United and drew another one game against Sunshine Stars within the short reign of Okpodu, Okpodu is doing a wonderful job and we are 100% solidly behind him.”
