Wetkas, an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had yesterday tendered among other documents, a petition that the funds meant for Education where diverted by the Senate President while he was the Governor of Kwara state.
At Tuesday’s resumed hearing, Wetkas, while being cross-examined by the defence counsel, Mr. Kanu Agabi SAN said he only tendered the petition before the tribunal.
Wetkas said, “I did not handle that aspect of the investigation that says local governments of Kwara State remitted funds to the state government while Saraki was the governor of the state.
“This petition is not the aspect I handled there is somebody more competent that can talk about this.
“I did not partake in the investigation, I only perused through the petition when I took over in 2014. My lord, the petition was filed in 2012.”
Also reacting to a question by Agabi on the petition titled, ‘EFCC should investigate the mismanagement of local government revenue in Kwara State from 2003-2011,’ the witness said, “It was not part of my assignment, my lord.”
