3 robbers busted at Ashaiman

      Three suspected robbers are cooling off in the cell of the Tema Regional Police Command for allegedly involving themselves in a series of robberies at Ashaiman and its environs in the Greater Accra Region.

The suspects, Osman Sani Mohammed alias Abacha, 28 and Samuel Adjetey, 20, were arrested at Ashaiman and led the police to arrest David Agbenyegah, 27 years of age.

According to the police, a search in Adjetey’s room revealed an empty pistol magazine, a 42-inch LG plasma TV set, a Woofer sound system, Samsung home theatre, six different types of mobile phones, a computer hard disk drive and an unregistered Yamaha YBR-125 motorbike.

Also, items retrieved from David Agbenyegah’s abode included 67 mobile phones and one iPad.

A search conducted on Abacha’s hideout at Asensuba revealed a matchbox containing dry leaves suspected to be narcotics, a pinch bar, 2 pairs of scissors, a screw driver, a purse containing complimentary cards and a signed cheque with a face value of US$400.00, bearing the name of Steve Qwagu.

Police further found other items such as 7 different SIM cards, 2 Samsung Duo Phones, 1 Nokia 88 phone, 1 Techno Phone, KGtel phone, Motorola phone, 1 HTC phone, 1 iPad and a mini laptop in the room of the suspect, which he was said to have admitted were stolen goods.

In another separate operation, the police arrested other suspects – Abass, aged 38 and Richard Opoku Adjei, 29, at a ghetto behind Spider Toilet at Ashaiman, with 4 wraps suspected to be marijuana (wee).

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Paul Manly Awini, the Regional Police Commander, toldDAILY GUIDE that an operation at dawn of Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Asensuba, led to the arrests of the two suspects.
