The state’s NSCDC Public Relations Officer, PRO, Mr. Wale Folarin, said the suspects, Mutiu Lawal and Alaba Folawiyo, who pretended to be mad, were hiding in an uncompleted building near Apomu Junction in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole LGA, when they were arrested.
Confirming the incident to newsmen on Monday, Folarin said information revealed that the suspects had been in the area for a long time pretending to be mad men; meanwhile they carried out their ritual activities with others who are now at large.
The PRO added that items such as cooking utensils, clothes, shoes, a Blackberry phone hidden inside a drug pack, perfume cans, school bags, wristwatches, knife, electrical materials, roofing sheets and ATM cards were found in the building, adding that some of these items were suspected to be belongings of victims of the suspects.
