Lagos, Ogun bank robberies: Gang leader who disguises as woman.....


thief2One Clement Abanara, one of the suspected armed robbers that robbed several banks in Lagos and Ogun states, was weekend, arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, weekend, in Benin, Edo state.
According to reports, he was tracked down by detectives attached to the Special Intelligence Response Team, SIRT, at his hideout in Osayande estate, Benin City, Edo state.
Abanara, alleged to be the commander of the group and fondly called ‘Millions’, had always disguised as a woman during operations in Ikorodu, Lekki, Festac and Agbara.
It will be recalled that late last year, a top commander of the gang, Fotor Kelly, was arrested in Delta after a wedding ceremony where he featured as the special guest of honour.
He was said to have given the names and details of all those who participated in the Lagos and Ogun bank robberies before he died of bullet injuries.
CSP Abba Kyari, confirming the arrest, said Kelly, who was picked up a day after the Agbara incident, told the police that Million was the one who disguised as a woman.
