Former Senate President, Senator David Mark, whose election was recently nullified, yesterday told a coalition of young Idoma professionals across Nigeria that he will not disappoint them if given the mandate to return to the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
Mark, who was responding to the group’s call on him to stand firm for the survival of Idoma nation, said: “I am impressed with your firm commitment. I can see you spoke from your hearts. I will not fail you.”
The coalition in a solidarity visit led by its coordinator, Mr. Oche Odang Josef was at the Abuja residence of Senator Mark yesterday to assure the lawmaker of their support as he returns to the poll on February 13 for the Benue South rerun election.
The group made up of young professionals from Otukpo, Ohimini, Ado, Apa, Agatu, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo, Obi and Oju local government areas.
They had told Mark that, “You remain our choice until the Idoma nation decides otherwise. For now, we have no reason to alter the equation.
“We are convinced about your leadership. We know how much you have positively impacted on Idoma people. No matter the amount of treachery and mudslinging, we are irrevocably committed to your leadership.”
