Emeka Ike: Actor Says ‘Cabal’ Diverted N3bn Intervention Fund, Seeks FG’s Help

National president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Ike, has alleged that a cabal in the industry diverted most of the N3 billion Nollywood Intervention Fund for personal use.
In a chat with newsmen in Yola, Adamawa today, the handsome actor called on the Federal Government to probe the manner in which the funds were utilized.
“What the cabal do is to bring faces for Mr President; that’s what they did in the last administration, they are scavengers, and I am begging us here today to expose them.”
He said that the few people who benefited from the fund were buying houses in Abuja and Lagos state, instead of investing some of it into the industry. He said that most of the 247 actors said to have been trained at the cost of N899 million abroad from the fund, were not traceable.
Emeka added that he was doing all he could to address indiscipline and exploitation in the film industry.
