Kanu Nwankwo, Nigerian football legend's mom, Mrs Susan Kanu Iheme passed away on September seventh.
He opened up after her death to papilonews.com, Kanu said:
"The loss of Mama is difficult to bear. She is a rock that remained by me and every one of my siblings. She showed us equal love and fondness, and dependably prayed for every one of us. Her backing and prayers for me right from the starting point of my playing career till the end were invaluable. Her prayers also went a long way into trim me into the man I am today. She taught me to love, and to give. I will miss her, yet God knows best."
