Obama asked to apologise for drone strike

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the US drone strike in Balochistan and asked the US President Barrack Obama to tender an apology.
The resolution termed the US drone strike as an attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The resolution moved by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmaker from district Bannu, Fakhr-e-Azam Wazir was unanimously passed by the house.

The resolution urged upon the federal government to take up the issue at the diplomatic level. It also demanded of the US President Barrack Obama to tender an apology for this act.

Through another resolution moved jointly by Manawar Khan of JUI-F and Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha of PML-N, the federal government was asked to make Ruet-e-Hilal Committee bound to take joint decision along with all Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees so that to ensure Ramadan and celebration of Eids on the same day across the country.

Moreover, the resolution called for taking steps to ensure that non-government moon sighting committees adhere to the Cenral Ruet-e-Hial Committee.

It said that these committees created a major division among people during Ramadan and Eids. The resolution was adopted unanimously.

Similarly, Malik Riaz of JUI-F presented a resolution against restarting of the collection of tax from contractors in the province. The resolution termed the collection of the tax as injustice with the province.

Through another resolution unanimously adopted by the house, the federal government was asked for not observing load shedding during the month of Ramadan. The fifth resolution was presented by Meraj Hamayun of QWP was also passed by the house unanimously.

Galiyat Ordinance and report of the Standing Committee on Health regarding appointments in health department were also tabled in the house. The KP Assembly met with Deputy Speaker Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani in the chair.

Protest rallies against US strike

Various political and religious parties on Friday took out protest rallies to denounce the US drone strike in Balochistan and asked the government to shoot down the US drones.

On the call of its chief Hafiz Saeed, the Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) Peshawar chapter also strongly condemned the killing of Taliban Ameer Mulla Akhtar Mansur in US drone attack and offered funeral in absentia here at Chowk Fawara Peshawar Cantt.

The protesting activists led by JuD local leader Ghazi Inamullah, Haji Iqbal, Hafiz Smaiullah and Ahl-e-Sunat Wal Jamaat leader Ismail Darwish after the funeral prayer marched towards Peshawar Press Club.

Amid chanting slogans against the US and Jewish lobby, what they said working against the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan and Muslim world, they were holding party flags, and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of enforcement of Islamic Sharia in the country and an end to the growing foreign interventions into the countries affairs.

Meanwhile, activists of Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party and Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Nazriati (JUI-N) also held protest demonstrations against the US drone strike in Noshki area of Balochistan, here outside press club.

The Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party protest rally was led by its central chief and former MPA Hakeem Ibrahim Qasmi, while the JUI-N and International Khatm-e-Nabuat Movement led by Maulana Ismail holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the US, after passing through various routes reached press club.

Condemning the drone strikes in Pakistan territory, they protesting leaders termed it against the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

They demanded of the government to sever diplomatic ties with the US by expelling its diplomat from the country and take the issue of drone strikes at international level.

They also urged upon the Muslim Ummah to get united against the US-led Jewish conspiracies hatching against Islam and give a strong reaction to it.
